  • Westside Community Church recently announced its events and services for the month of November.
    On Tuesday, Nov. 16, the church will visit the seniors at Heritage Hall. Music and worship will begin at 7 p.m.
    A revival is planned at the church on Friday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 21.
    The Friday night service will begin at 7 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Robinson speaking.
    The Saturday night service will start at 7 p.m. with Bro. Gene speaking.
    The Sunday night service is planned for 6 p.m. with Robinson speaking again.

  • Salvisa Christian Church will sponsor a Make-a-Blanket Day on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Participants can come and go throughout the day.

    A potluck lunch will be served.

    Participants are asked to bring 1 1/2 yards of fleece of any color or characters pleasing to children, infants to 18 years.

    “If you can’t bring any fleece, come anyway,” organizers said in a news release.

    Blankets go to the Danville Surgery Center, Haggin Memorial Hospital ER, and the local fire department.

    Miss Jeanette Disponett fell at the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Ind. where she was employed and broke both kneecaps. She was a patient at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.

    Rual Hays was re-elected State Director of the Anderson Dairy Association from the Central Kentucky District.

    Marjorie Charlene Hanks, 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Hanks, was to model for a Lexington store in a program to appear on WLEX-TV.

  • Ashley Ann and Jackie Lee Smith Jr. of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Carlee Ann Smith, on Sept. 20 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

  • The second annual Relay for Life House of Trees is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19-20.
    “This year’s event looks to be bigger and better,” organizers said in a news release.
    The event will take place in the former Countrywide Motors building showroom.
    More information will be released at a later date, organizers said.

  • Fox Creek Christian Church, located at 2020 Fox Creek Road, is holding its annual family and friends service Sunday, Nov. 7.
    “The family at Fox Creek wants to extend an invitation to everyone as part of God’s circle of family and friends for an awesome day of worship and fellowship,” the church announced in a news release.
    Special music featuring great local talent along with some of Fox Creek’s finest begins at 10 a.m.

  • Lawrenceburg’s first-ever Love Feast Harvest, a follow-up to this summer’s Love Feast, is planned for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Lawrenceburg Green.
    Lawrenceburg Green is located at the corner of West Alley and Woodford Street, behind Town & Country Bank.
    The plan for this inaugural event is to have people in more than 100 vehicles passing out candy to little trick-or-treaters from their trunks and tailgates, according to a news release.

  • Salt River Independent Baptist Church is seeking a volunteer piano player.
    This is not a paying position, according to an announcement from the church.
