  • Natalie Jane Morgan and William Jay Anderson were married July 17 at The Carpenter’s Christian Church in Harrodsburg.

    The bride is a daughter of Cathy Morgan of Lawrenceburg and the late Bruce Morgan.

    She is a granddaughter of Earl McGaughey of Lawrenceburg, the late Jane McGaughey, and Henry and Joan Morgan of Utica.

    She is a 2003 graduate of Anderson County High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology.

  • Laura and Louis Sparks of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Landon Elliott Sparks, on Aug. 27 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    He weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    He was welcomed home by a brother, Lance Edward Sparks, 2.

    His maternal grandparents are Geneva Blevins of Nicholasville and the late Oscar Delance Blevins.

    His paternal grandparents are Brenda and Jerry Willoughby of Lexington and Louis and Sue Sparks of Willisburg.

  • Carol and Larry Erickson of Versailles will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Eddie Montgomery’s Steakhouse in Harrodsburg on Oct. 15.

    The couple were married Oct. 15, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minn.

    Mrs. Erickson, the former Carol Gibson, is a daughter of the late Gordon and Virginia Gibson of Minneapolis, Minn.

    She is retired.

    Mr. Erickson is a son of the late Arnold and Sadie Erickson of Annandale, Minn.

    He is retired.

  • Beverly Simpson of Lawrenceburg, Rodney Proctor of Lawrenceburg and Tamara Mercer of Houstonville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Tamara Simpson and Jeremy Proctor.

    The bride-to-be is a daughter of the late Edward Simpson, and a granddaughter of Kenneth and Joyce Sutherland and Johnnie Sr. and Ann Simpson, all of Lawrenceburg.

    She is a 2004 graduate of Anderson County High School, and is currently a stay-at-home mom to the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Zadia.

  • Shirley Cox of Lawrenceburg and James A. Monroe of Mt. Eden announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, David A. Monroe, to Robin Marie Brown, daughter of L.T. and Mary Sharp of Shelbyville.

    A wedding is planned for Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Eden Ruritan Club in Mt. Eden.

  • Alma Gene and Danny Darnell recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a luncheon hosted by their family.

    They were married Sept. 1, 1960.

    Mrs. Darnell, the former Alma Moore, is a daughter of the late Clyde and Christine Moore of Lawrenceburg.

    Mr. Darnell is a son of the late J.C. and Velma Darnell of Lawrenceburg.

    The Darnells are farmers.

    They have two children, Christy Burke and her husband, Wayne, and Danette Warford and her husband, Kevin, both of Lawrenceburg.
