    Oct. 27, 1960
    Robert Shifflet, 2, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Shifflet of Nevins Station Road, was bitten on the nose by a dog last Thursday. The child began rabies shots on Friday.

    Sarah Margaret Kays, sophomore student at Eastern Kentucky State College, was elected floor representative of Burnham Hall for Women. She is a graduate of Western High School and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Kays.

  • Virginia “Ginny” Lloyd Sloane, Bardstown, and Brandon Shane Raeuchle, Shelbyville, were marred April 10 at Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown.

  • Gertrude and Johnie Peach will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 2.

  • Margaret and William Pittman of Lawrenceburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 23.
    They were married Nov. 23, 1960 at First Presbyterian Church in Carlisle.
    Mrs. Pittman, the former Margaret Gaunce, is employed at Town and Country Bank.
    Mr. Pittman is retired from Link Belt.
    They have two children, Eric Pittman of Lawrenceburg and his wife, Misty, and the late Sheri Pittman.

    All services will begin at 11 a.m.
    Second Sunday of Advent is scheduled for Dec. 5, followed Dec. 12 for Third Sunday of Advent. Lessons and Carols are scheduled for Dec. 19.
    Hanging of the Greens was scheduled for Nov. 28.
