  • Chrystal and David McChesney of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Scarlett Marie McChesney, on July 15, 2010 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

    She weighed 7 pounds and was 19 inches long.

    She was welcomed home by a brother, Logan, 10.

    Her maternal grandparents are Steve and Brenda Hall of Frankfort.

    Her paternal grandparents are Patsy McChesney and the late Edward McChesney of Frankfort.

  • Stacy and Rusty Waldridge celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on Aug. 14 at their home in Anderson County.

    Family and friends joined the couple for a vows renewal ceremony.

    Their two children, Levi Waldridge and Laci Waldridge, were their attendants. 

  • Jean and Billy Ray Buffo of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27.

    The couple was married on Aug. 27, 1960 by the Rev. Goodpasteur at a Presbyterian church in Gary, Ind.

    Mrs. Buffo, the former Jean Aeschliman, is a daughter of the late Melvin and Zella Aeschliman.

    She is retired.

    Mr. Buffo is a son of the late Bill and Elizabeth Buffo.

    He is retired from the U.S. Steel Corp. and Sears Roebuck and Company of Gary, Ind.

    The Buffos have two children, Terry Buffo and Kris Bustin, both of Lawrenceburg.

  • Sybil and Ralph Smith of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sunday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sand Spring Baptist Church.

    They were married Aug. 21, 1960 by the Rev. E.A. Somers at Bethel Baptist Church in Mercer County.

    Mrs. Smith, the former Sybil Satterly, is a daughter of Eva Satterly of Lawrenceburg and the late J.B. Satterly.

    She is retired.

    Mr. Smith is a son of the late Charley and Edna Smith.

    He is retired.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Barker and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lewis of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Heather Nicole Barker and Matthew Bennett Lewis.

    The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Anderson County High School and a 2009 graduate of Morehead State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She plans to attend the University of Kentucky beginning this fall to receive a doctorate degree in nursing practice.

    She is currently employed as an RN at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

    The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Owen Judd and the late Doris L. Judd of Greensburg.

    She is a 1998 graduate of Green County High School and is employed by Farmers Bank and Capital Trust.

    The groom-to-be is a 1998 graduate of Anderson County High School and is employed by Florida Tile.

    A wedding is planned for 2 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2010 at the couple’s residence.

  • Harry E. and Annell B. Adair of Versailles, formerly of Lexington, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 18

    The couple was married Aug. 18, 1950 at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Baxter, in Anderson County by the Rev. Reed Carter

    The Adairs have two children, Woody Adair and his wife, Debbie, of Danville, Ind. and Julie Barnett and her husband, Kenny, of Lawrenceburg.

  • Jack G. and Ann Parker Upchurch of Stanford will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20 at the Inter-County Energy community room, 1009 Hustonville Road, Danville.

    The couple was married Aug. 11, 1960 at the Danville First Church of God by then pastor Marvin L. Forbes.

    Betty Coomer Parker, sister-in-law of the bride served as matron of honor and Earl Upchurch, brother of the groom served as best man.
