  • They were among Lawrenceburg’s poorest.

    When they died, there was no money to bury them in a cemetery, leaving family members no option but to have them interred in a field that now borders the county’s solid waste facility and highway barns.

    Although they can’t do anything about what happened to these people in the past, Cub Scouts with Pack 38, Den 9 can make the area around the graves more visually pleasing, and began that work last Saturday afternoon.

  • One of the area’s most popular events returns to the Anderson County Middle School stage May 16 when 14 girls vie for the title of Anderson County Junior Miss.

    The event begins at 7 p.m.

  • The National Day of Prayer and a celebration service are scheduled for this Thursday.

    The prayer will be conducted in front of the county courthouse from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.

    The celebration service is scheduled for 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
