  • Halloween is just four days away and no costumes have been bought or made for my 5-year-old. I guess I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. There is an “adult Halloween” happening on Main Street on Friday, maybe I’ll go as a chef since I haven’t made a costume for myself yet either. It sounds like a lot of fun and I hope to see some familiar faces, no clowns.

    Holy Spirit Bible study begins Oct. 26

    A new Bible study on the Holy Spirit starts at 6 p.m. Oct. 26.

    The three-week course will be taught by Holly Larrabee.

  • Marley Grace Trimble was born Aug. 20, 2016 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    She weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces and measured 19 1/4 inches at birth.

    Marley is the daughter of Madison Brummett and Blake Trimble of Lawrenceburg.

    She is the granddaughter of Kristi and Justin Tinsley, Jamie Brummett and Terry and Kelley Trimble, all of Lawrenceburg.

  • Nadia Rashelle Slattery was bornSept. 27, 2016 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    She weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 21 inches long at birth.

    Nadia is the daughter of Kalan Slattery of Frankfort and Rasheed Seraji of Harrodsburg.

    The Selective Service had confirmed that it was ordering pre-induction physical examinations for all men in the 26 to 35 age bracket and classified as 1A and 1A0, single or married men without children.

    The national recheck could possibly produce about 50,000 potential draftees, about one month’s worth in terms of this moth’s draft call.
