    Sand Springers may sign up for a trip to Our Best Restaurant in the atrium.

    The group will leave the church at 9:30 a.m. and return before 5 p.m.

  • Tailgating season means football, friends, and good food.

    Are you looking to bring something different this year? I have a few tips to get you started and the rest is left to your imagination.

    A lot of people struggle with how to keep the food warm in the colder temperatures. The slow cooker will keep most things warm for a couple of hours even after you unplug it. But, what about the other stuff? Try lining a cardboard box with foil, grab some old towels or blankets and make your own hot box. Cardboard is an excellent insulator and the towels trap the heat in.

  • What is one necessity for all new families?

    Diapers.

    Seeing this need, Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church has launched a diaper ministry, doling out diapers of all sizes and baby wipes to Anderson County residents.

    “I thought of this ministry a couple of years ago,” said Holly Hawkins, who along with Emily Spurlock is spearheading the effort. “They do something similar in Lexington.”

    Fall Fellowship trip planned Oct. 9

    Sand Spring Baptist Church will take a Fall Fellowship trip to Devine’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Harrodsburg on Oct. 9.

    They will leave from the church at 5:30 p.m. and return at 8:30 p.m.

    The cost is $5 and includes activities, a pumpkin and pizza.

    New mission provides diapers for needy families

  • Eleanor Alexandria Sizemore was born Sept. 20, 2016 at 2:13 a.m. at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

    She weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and measured 20 inches long at birth.

    Eleanor is the daughter of Amy Lamaster and Cody Sizemore of Lawrenceburg. She has an older sister, Abby.

    She is the granddaughter of Kandi Sizemore and the great-granddaughter of Joyce and David Sizemore, all of Lawrenceburg.
