  • Motorcycle run to benefit Open Hands

    A motorcycle run is scheduled for Saturday, July 18 to benefit the Open Hands Food Ministry, it was announced.

    Sign up for the run begins at 11 a.m. at Open Hands, located on Industry Drive.

    Cost is $15 to enter, plus $5 for each additional rider.

    Breaks hip

    T.L. Barnes fell in the yard at his home on Bond Street about noon Thursday and broke his left hip. He was running a lawn mower at the time of the fall.

    He was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington for treatment.

    Made “A” honor roll

    Ira Jack Birdwhistell, Sara Frances Drury and Betty McMichael were listed on the “A” Honor Roll at Georgetown College.

  • Church concerts scheduled

    The following concerts have been announced during July.

    The Shireys are scheduled to perform Thursday, July 9 at Calvary Baptist Church.

    The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. A free will offering will be collected.

    The church is located at 2193 Cornishville Road, Harrodsburg.

    The Issacs and the Shireys are scheduled to perform Friday, July 10 at Sand Spring Baptist Church.

  • The men I spoke about last time discovered that their true identity as believers was paramount to change. That was the first of the keys to unlocking the secret to change. Their second discovery was the actual and literal meaning of two little words: commit and submit.

    Those two little words look the same and are often used interchangeably, but when you discover the real difference they open the door of understanding further. Discovery of their secret happened almost ten years ago for me.

  • Katelynn Brooke Terrell and Larry Michael Taylor III announce the birth of their son, Carter Michael, on May 27, 2015 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches at birth.

    Maternal grandparents are Georgetta Pleasant and Stephen Terrell of Lawrenceburg.

    Maternal great-grandparents are Darnel Pleasant and the late Floanna McKee of Lawrenceburg, and the late Kent and Beluah Terrell of Frankfort.
