March 7, 1963
The 70-acre farm of Harry and Fyrne Barnes, located about one mile east of Lawrenceburg on the Versailles Road, sold at auction to Charles L. Scott for $33,500.
Cold winter
The thermometer at Lock No. 5 registered zero or below 14 times from Jan. 1 to March 1 and, during this same period, it was only above freezing three times during the early morning hours.
These figures were supplied by Tom Parrot, who said his rain barrel had had ice in it continuously since the middle of December.
