    The bride-to-be is a 2009 Anderson County High School graduate and a 2013 Transylvania University graduate. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with the University of Kentucky.

    Nominated for award

    Paula Monroe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kisle Monroe, was nominated for the annual Achievement Awards Program, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English.

    FFA awards

    The annual FFA banquet of the Anderson High Chapter was held with 129 members in attendance.

    An Honorary Chapter Farmer degree was presented to Henry Frazier, principal at Anderson High School.

    When the news broke of L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s ignorant and outright racist diatribe, I was not surprised.

    What has been known about this man was only further confirmed as his girlfriend cajoled him into verbalizing his views in what he thought was a private quarrel turned public debate.

  • Westside Community Church events include Lift Ladies meeting

    Regular Sunday services are held at 11 a.m. with Sunday School at 10 a.m. There are also evening worship services at 6 p.m.

    Bible study is held Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

    There will be no evening service Sun., May 11, due to the Mother’s Day holiday.

     Other upcoming events are Lift Ladies meeting Sun., May 18, at 4:30 p.m. and Singer Dave Raby Sun., May 18, at 6 p.m.

    The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and will reside in Lawrenceburg.

  • Katelyn and Matthew Stidham of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Eli Cole Stidham, on March 19, 2014 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

    He weighed 7pounds, 10 ounces and was 18 ? inches long.
    His maternal grandparents are Mark and Emily Scott of Lawrenceburg. His maternal great-great grandparent is Rhetta Mountjoy or Lawrenceburg.
    His paternal grandparents are Dennis and Anne Stidham of Lawrenceburg.
