  • The Rev. Paul Lipscomb was recently announced as the pastor of Pigeon Fork Baptist Church, according to a news release.

    The church is located at 5090 Hickory Ridge Road in Waddy.

    The community is invited to attend Sunday morning and Wednesday night services, the news release said.

  • A prayer walk is planned to take place at Anderson County High School on the third Sunday of each month at 2 p.m.

    The next scheduled prayer walk is Sunday, Jan. 16.

    Walkers can meet at the front doors, and the walk will proceed through the school to pray for the high school students and “ask God to open doors for them,” organizers said in a news release.

  • Westside Community Church recently announced its events and services for the month of January.
    On Saturday, Jan. 8, the youth will take a trip to the Georgetown Pavilion. The group will leave the church at noon.
    During the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Jan. 16, Glenis Sanders will be singing.
    On Tuesday, Jan. 18, the church will visit Heritage Hall for music and fellowship.
    Regular service times are Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday school, 11 for the morning worship service and 6 for the evening worship service.
