    It was a story responding to something that recently went viral on the Internet when a restaurant server was fired after posting a copy of a customer’s credit card receipt online.

  • Amanda and Brandon Brown of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Lucas Harley Brown, born Jan. 16, 2013, at Frankfort Regional.
    He weighed 8 1/2 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long.
    Big brother Jacob Hunter, 2, welcomed Lucas home.
    Maternal grandparents are Kerry and Barbie Markwell of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are Alpha Harley and the late Walter Harley.
    Paternal grandparents are Mark and Rhonda Brown of Lawrenceburg. Parent great-grandparents are Bill and Nancy Brown and Brenda Perry.

    Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
    The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
    Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

    On Feb. 8 there will be Discipleship Training Class at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
    On Feb. 10 there will be communion at the 11 a.m. service.
    On Feb. 10 there will be a prayer walk at the high school at 2 p.m. Meet at the front doors.
    On Feb. 10 special guest singers “New Vision” will perform Sunday night at 6 p.m.

  • Russ and Morgan Drury of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Izzabella Layne Drury, born Jan. 22, 2013, at Central Baptist.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Tammi and David Jenkins of Lawrenceburg and Tracey and Robert Bonzo of Bardstown. Maternal great-grandparents are Pat and Teddy Brothers, Cheri and Steve Young, Beverly and Don Bonzo, and Ruby and Dennis Oaks.

  • The Anderson Public Library’s “Bedtime Stories” hosted a dessert contest Jan. 28, according to a news release from the library.
    About 32 children and 34 adults attended the contest with nine entries in the dessert competition, according to the release.
    The first place winner was Laura Johnson, using her mom’s recipe of blackberry cobbler. Donna and Douglas Rogers came in second place with banana butter pecan cake with cream cheese icing and Jarrett McCreary came in third with maple bacon cupcakes.
