  • Farmdale Baptist offers free clothing,
    fresh vegetables
    Free clothing will be available for men, women and children July 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Farmdale Baptist Church, the church announced.
    There will also be a limited supply of fresh vegetables from the church's community garden.
    The clothing was donated through the church’s Clothes Closet Ministry.
    The church is located at 5610 US 127 South, just across the Franklin County line.

    June 21, 1962
    John Louis Hume, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hume of Alton Station, graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
    He received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration with specialization in accounting and economics.
    He is married to the former Brenda Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reo Adams of Alton Station.

    Groundbreaking ceremonies were held for the new Woodford Hospital. The building program was initiated by a $400,000 gift from Mrs. Oakey Logan Alexander.

    Magician David Garrard is scheduled to perform at First Baptist Church, located at 111 North Main St., on July 11 at 6 p.m. This is event is free and is open to the public.

    Volunteers and supplies are needed for vacation Bible school at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 3825 Tyrone Pike in Versailles.

    The bride’s grandparents are Clarence and Doris Underwood.
    The groom’s grandparent is Alvin Hardin.
    The bride is currently employed as an equine surgery technician at Harthill and Priest Equine Surgery in Versailles.
    The groom is currently employed as an estimating manager at Schiller Architectural Hardware in Lexington.
