Fifty-one cars of a 175-car Southern Railway freight train were derailed about 2:30 last Thursday afternoon near the Avenstoke crossing.
A number of rails were broken and damaged, as well as severe damage to the cars and contents. No one was injured.
Cause of the derailment was unknown.
Johnny Cook, 7, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Cook, fell from his bicycle Monday and sustained a deep cut of the right knee. Six stitches were required to close the wound.
