Maxberry’s first varsity points give Bearcats OT win in opener

Brennon Maxberry picked a good time to score his first varsity basketball points for Anderson County on Friday night.

The sophomore guard snared a missed free throw, then sank a short jump shot just before the final buzzer to give Anderson an 84-82 win at East Jessamine in double overtime. Trailing by one inside the final 10 seconds of the second overtime, Anderson got the ball to Christian Gritton, who was fouled as he drove the lane. The junior hit his first shot but missed his second.
