Difficult December can yield memorable March

Things didn’t go exactly as planned for Anderson County basketball last Friday night.

That’s a major league understatement.

With about four minutes to play, Anderson’s Cobe Penny drove to the basket, flipped in a runner, then converted a three-point play. The scoreboard showed that Woodford County still led the Bearcats, 44-40, but the Anderson student section was getting rowdier, the Bearcats had a bit more energy and it looked like that decisive run to change the outcome was about to get underway.
