Carson Alexander takes a cut during Monday’s season-opener at Franklin County. Returning from an injury, Alexander is expected to be a key figure in the Bearcat attack. Franklin won the opener, 4-0, when umpires called the game in the top of the sixth. Anderson had loaded the bases when play stopped.
Bearcats till swinging for the big prize

When a high school sports program has built a reputation like Anderson County baseball, there is always a high expectation.

As they open the 2018 season, things are no different for the Bearcats. as they are coming off a regional runner-up finish -- the tying run was on base when the final out was recorded in the championship game against Simon Kenton -- and are expected to be a force in the Eighth Region and a contender for their third 30th District title in four years.
