  • Martha Jean Lockhart, 79

    Martha Jean Lockhart, 79, of Park Hills, died April 27, 2012 at her residence.  
    She was a retired School teacher for Simon Kenton High School.
    Lockhart was a member of Florence Baptist Church. She had a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky. She was on the Kenton County Retired Teachers board where she was chairman of shut-ins.  
    She was also a member of the Dixie Gateway Chapter of the American Business Woman’s Association for 50 years where she served as education chairman.

  • Lisa Marie Whiteford Vaughn, 37

    Lisa Marie Whiteford Vaughn, 37, Ammerman Pike, died May 8, 2012.
    She was the daughter of Michael Whiteford and Carolyn Sue Murray Herron.  Besides her parents, she is survived by her fiancé, Robert Dewayne Mullins; two daughters, Katelyn Gayle Vaughn and Josie Mae Vaughn; stepfather, Ed Herron; stepmother, Teresa Whiteford. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on May 10 at Ware Funeral Home.

  • Walter Harding Harley, 90

    Walter Harding Harley, 90, of Lawrenceburg, died May 6, 2012, at his home.
     He was born in Anderson County to the late Benjamin Harrison and Davie Lee Cornish Harley.
    He was a farmer; a member and deacon of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church; a member of the Rutherford Ruritan Club; a musician; and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

  • Danny Hardin, 52

    Danny Hardin, 52, Lawrenceburg, died May 1, 2012, at his home.
    A native of Louisville, he was the son of Mary Ree Milburn  Mahoney, Eminence, Ky., and Herman Russell Hardin.
    He was a former Quebecor employee.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Christy Hardin; a daughter, Nicole McGinnis (Jerry), Harrodsburg; two step-daughters, Jessica Crutcher (Donte), Frankfort and Kealey Gabhart, Lawrenceburg; a step-son, Adam Peyton, Frankfort; two sisters, Debra Kidwell, Pleasureville and Paula Dauga, Harrodsburg and a brother, Gary Hardin, Ala.

  • Betty Louise Richardson Hagan, 84

    Betty Louise Richardson Hagan, 84, of Lawrenceburg, died May 5, 2012, at Heritage Hall Health Care Center  in Lawrenceburg.
     She was born in Versailles, Ky., to the late Clarence and Josie Mae Martin Richardson. She is the widow of Philip Hagan Jr.
    She was a homemaker, a member of Highview Church of Christ in Chaplin and a graduate of Versailles High School.

  • Clara Soard Fields, 87

    Clara Soard Fields, 87, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Versailles, died April 23, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital.  
    She was a daughter of the late Beck and Mary Updike Soard.
    Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Hill.
     Funeral services were held April 26 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.
     

  • Forrest Eugene Bryant, 63

    Forrest Eugene Bryant, 63, of Lawrenceburg, died May 1, 2012, at his home.
     He was born in Franklin County to Joyce Johnson Bryant, Lawrenceburg, and the late Forrest E. Bryant.
    He was a farmer and a factory worker; a member of New Liberty Christian Church; and a 1967 graduate of Western High School.

  • Louise Travis Bentley, 85

    Louise Travis Bentley, 85, died May 2, 2012, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.
    She was the daughter of the late Ezra and Lilly Richie Travis.  
      In addition to her husband Thomas Chester ‘T. C.’ Bentley, Mrs. Bentley is survived by her son, Martin Thomas Bentley, and her two daughters, Sue Carol McAllister and Brenda Miele.
    Visitation was held May 4 and funeral services were held May 5 at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. Interment followed in Valley Cemetery.
     Hall-Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Garvis Owen Hutton, 85
    Garvis Owen Hutton, 85, of Lawrenceburg, died April 25, 2012.
     Hutton was born Oct. 1, 1926, to James Owen Hutton and Pearla Bell Jelf Hutton in Lawrenceburg.
    He lived in Anderson County all of his life, attending Kavanaugh grade school and high school until he was drafted into the US Army and served his country honorably during World War II.
    He was a long time member and head usher of First Baptist Church and the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class.

  • Matilon Banks Caudill, 98

    Matilon Banks Caudill, 98, of Lexington, formerly of Lawrenceburg, died April 26, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
     She was born in Glennville, Ga. She was the widow of Dr. Henry Boyd Caudill.
    She was a member of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church; a housewife; and a former member of Lawrenceburg Woman’s Club.
