    Benefit will assist

    injured Marine

    Hill Of Beans BBQ will kick off Bike Night with a benefit for “A Soldier’s Journey Home” for Lance Corp. Cody Evans (United States Marine Corps, retired) April 30.

    Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The first 15 registered will receive a free T-shirt and breakfast sandwich. The cost is $15 per rider, or $5 per passenger.

    The ride, which begins at noon, will be hosted by Defining Forces Veterans Club.

    The Lawrenceburg Pierian Woman’s Club will sponsor The Carlisle Brothers Country Music Duo, a Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua presentation, on Tuesday, April 26, at the Anderson County Senior Center, 160 Township Square, Lawrenceburg, at 7 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

    Lawrenceburg musicians Greg Breeding and Martin Harley will portray the Carlisle Brothers.

    Service Day is Friday
    Community Service Day is scheduled this year for Friday, according to a news release.
    Now in it third year, the day is designed to encourage residents to perform community service at a variety of locations across Anderson County.
    The day was designated here by Mayor Sandy Goodlett, and has been designated by mayors of other communities nationwide.

    CASA to conduct annual Boot Drive
    Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will conduct its annual Boot Drive on Saturday, April 9, the organization announced.
    Volunteers are scheduled to be at Ace Hardware, Kroger, Tractor Supply and Walmart, accepting donations, which can also be mailed to CASA of the Bluegrass, Box 193, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
    The drive is being conducted in concert with Child Abuse Month.
