  • Theater group to present Snow White

    Tickets for next month’s presentation of Snow White go on sale June 22.
    The play will be an adaption by Lawrenceburg’s Catherine Partlow, according to a news release.
    Performances are scheduled for July 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m., and July 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.
    Tickets are $10 per person or $7 for groups of eight or more. Children under 5 are admitted free.
    The play, presented by Anderson County Community Theatre, will be performed at the high school.

  • Play to feature Lawrenceburg residents

    A musical featuring a number of Anderson County residents is scheduled this at Franklin County High School.
    “Mary Poppins, The Musical” will be presented by the Bluegrass Theater Guild from June 25-27 at 7:30 p.m., and June 28 at 2 p.m.
    General admission is $15; $12 for students and seniors.

    Local Foods for Kentucky

    Six free classes are scheduled, featuring Kentucky foods, on May 27, June 24, July 22, 29 and Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. Recipes from Living Well; Plate It Up Kentucky and the 2015 Food and Nutrition Calendar will be offered.  Sample new foods and learn more about healthy meals.

  • Birth: Gracie Ann Ajean Chilton

    Pete and Tonia Chilton announce the birth of a daughter at the Women’s Hospital St. Joseph East on March 8, 2015.

    Gracie Ann Ajean Chilton weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 inches long at birth.

    Maternal grandparents are Roger Hall of Lawrenceburg and the late Daisy Hall.

    Paternal grandparents are the late Leon Chilton and Connie Chilton.

  • Learn about Honor Flight at Senior Center

    From staff reports

    There will be an information session about an Honor Flight for Veterans on Monday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Anderson Senior Center.

    George Campbell will be the speaker at the meeting and provide details about the Honor Flight program.

    The session is open to the public, but World War II veterans, Korean War veterans and Vietnam veterans are invited.

    An Honor Flight is planned for Sept. 26. The group will fly out or bus that morning and return that evening. All expenses are paid for the veteran.

    Ortt-Burke

    Ralph and Peggy Ortt of Versailles announce the engagement of their daughter, Annette Ortt of Paris to Paul Cody Burke of Georgetown.

    A wedding is planned for 1 p.m. (CST) July 11 at Charity Baptist Church in Eddyville.

    The bride is a preschool teacher at Woodland Early Learning Center and earned bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in elementary education and Spanish.

    Her grandparents are Ishmel and Verna Ortt and the late James Noel and Joan Noel.
