The Blue Grass Community Action Agency will hold a public meeting Dec. 19 at noon to discuss the needs of low-income residents in Anderson County.
The meeting will be held at Blue Grass Community Action, located at 117 Hilltop Drive.

Recognized for the achievements of its women’s program this year, Anderson County Farm Bureau received the 2012 Gold Star Award of Excellence during Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Louisville, the agency announced.
The award honors county women’s committees for active participation in leadership development programs, agricultural promotion, educational initiatives and numerous other aspects of support to the local Farm Bureau, according to a news release.

Lawrenceburg resident Dan Marvin recently self-published his second “flash fiction” novel “Dan Marvin’s Change of Briefs” on Nov. 20.  
Marvin, the director of quality assurance at Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg, said he had been working on this book, patterned after the famous “Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader,” for the last four years.
“Oh my god, it was a huge relief,” Marvin said of finishing the flash fiction anthology.
