A buffet luncheon will be held for Pearl Harbor survivors, veterans and public Dec. 7 at noon at the Oleika Shrine Temple, located at 326 Southland Drive in Lexington.
The lunch is $10 per person.
The speaker will be Thomas R. Emerson, historian and retired Kentucky assistant attorney general.

If you think you’ve been good this year, tell Santa all about it by submitting your holiday letters to The Anderson News.
For the 35th consecutive year, the News will help Santa by publishing the letters and pictures of Anderson County’s children. Santa only asks one thing. In order to make sure he can get through them all, please keep letters to 100 words.
Letters should be e-mailed to santa@theandersonnews.com. Photos should be attached to the e-mail letters they accompany and should be saved in JPEG format.

The Lawrenceburg Pierian Woman’s Club’s primary fundraising endeavor is in full swing. Hundreds of tins of bourbon balls ($12 per dozen) and buckeyes (peanut-butter balls, $7 per dozen) are being created for holiday gifting. To order, call Sue Litkenhus at 502-839-6659.

Anderson County Relay for Life will host its annual House of Trees fundraiser Nov. 24-25 at the Eagle Lake Convention and Expo Center in Lawrenceburg.
The event will take place starting Saturday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 25 from 1-4 p.m.
Local organizations, churches and businesses decorate and donate themed Christmas trees, wreaths and centerpieces to be sold in a silent auction with all proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society.
