  • Local responders get fire training

    Members of the Lawrenceburg Fire & Rescue, Smiths Towing and Hadawreck towing, recently received training on electric vehicle safety for emergency responders.
    The National Fire Protection Association class, taught by Shane Ratcliff, a Lawrenceburg firefighter instructor, aims to help increase the safety of responders should they encounter an accident or fire involving an electrical or hybrid vehicle.

  • Lawrenceburg Pierian Woman’s Club plans May events

    The Lawrenceburg Pierian Woman’s Club has scheduled two major events for the coming month.

    A student Art Show and competition will be held Sat., May 10 in the Anderson County High School auditorium lobby. ACHS is located at 750 W Broadway St, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

    The public is invited to a viewing and open house from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., during which refreshments will be served. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in several categories.

  • Steven Sims Makes Dean's List at Centre College

    Steven Sims, of Lawrenceburg, has been named to the dean's list for the fall term at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.
    Sims is the son of Regina and Steve Sims, of Lawrenceburg, and is a graduate of Anderson County High School.
    Centre College, founded in 1819, is a nationally ranked liberal arts college in Danville, Ky. Centre hosted its second Vice Presidential Debate on 10.11.12, and remains the smallest college in the smallest town ever to host a general election debate.

    OK, who pushed the fast forward button on the calendar? Is anyone else amazed that tomorrow is May 1st?  I can’t complain, May is one of my favorite months because it marks the start of my engines! I love my Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor, my Echo Weed Eater and my Stihl Chain Saw.
