A chili lunch to raise funds for the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Franklin and Anderson counties is scheduled for Nov. 9 at the VFW Hall on Second Street in Frankfort, the organization announced.
This annual fundraiser, now in its fourth year, is provided by the Optimist and Kiwanis Clubs of Frankfort.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. by dine-in, carry-out or drive- thru.  The cost is $5 for a bowl of chili (vegetarian available), cake and drink.
As with any fundraiser, donations are appreciated, organizers said.

Police officers are willing to wait on you hand and foot to support their effort in bringing a merrier Christmas to children in need.
Deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Lawrenceburg Police Department officers and emergency management personnel will wait tables Monday, Nov. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Edwardo’s Pizza to raise money for the Shop With a Cop program.

The Anderson Public Library will offer the following free computer classes in November. All classes are subject to cancellation, and class space is limited to five students. Call the library at 839-6420 to sign up.

Introducation to the Internet
When: Nov. 6, 10 a.m. to noon
Let’s go surfing! This class will introduce you to the internet. Topics include: using the internet, website addresses, navigating a website, conducting a simple search, understanding email and social networking. Pre-registration is required.

The Anderson County Humanities Council will provide residents with an opportunity to spend some quality time with the legendary UK basketball coach, Adolph Rupp, in a free Chautauqua presentation held Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Emma B. Ward Elementary library.
According to the humanities council’s press release, “During the 42 years he coached at the University of Kentucky, Adolph Rupp (1901-1977) raised basketball to near-religious status in the commonwealth.
