The Anderson County historical society hosted a bourbon and wine tasting fundraiser on the front lawn of Dowling Hall Sept. 24.
Attendees had the opportunity to tour the T. B. Ripy House, the only official historic landmark designated by the historic district in Lawrenceburg.
All proceeds of the event were to go to the historical society, according to organizers.

Friends of the Anderson Public Library have scheduled a book sale Saturday, Oct. 1 during the annual Burgoo Festival, the group announced.
The sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the old Glensboro school building, located on the high school campus at the corner of Broadway and US 127 Bypass.
Novels, biographies, self-help, history, war, cookbooks, travel, westerns, science fiction and other selections will be available, along with audio, VHS books and movies, CDs and a large selection of children’s books, members said.

Children’s clothing and baby equipment will be sold 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 during the eighth semi-annual Lil Prince & Princess Sale, organizers announced.
Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will be donated to local and statewide charities, organizers said.
Clothing ranging from newborn to size 14 will be available.
Charities that have been supported in the past include The Children’s Crusade, Jarrett’s Joy Cart at UK Children’s Hospital, Gavin’s Goodies and Briar’s Brother’s Fund.
