  • Lawrenceburg Junior Cotillion members attend Fall Fling

    Several Lawrenceburg Junior Cotillion members and their guests attended the program’s Fall Fling, held Nov. 2 at the American Legion Hall, according to a news release.

    More than 40 young men and women enjoyed a casual, autumn-themed party, complete with fall festival games, prizes, a meal and dancing, organizers said.

    Those attending were reminded of the importance of giving. Each was asked to bring canned or boxed food items that have since then been donated to the local food pantry.

  • Historical Society to present ‘Who Shot Gov. Goebel?’

    On Thursday, Nov. 20 a program called “Caleb Powers: Who Shot Governor Goebel?” with Mr. Powers being portrayed by Duane Murner, will bring a mystery from the past to Anderson County, according a news release. The intriguing, historical event tells of a political murder that has never been solved to this day.

    Vets honored Nov. 9

    Now that the voting is done, remember to get out and pay tribute to those who keep that sacred right possible.

    A Veterans Day ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9 at American Legion Post 34 in Lawrenceburg.

    The event will be held inside of Patriot Hall and feature a catered meal for Anderson County veterans.

    Col. Charles Jones of the Kentucky National Guard will be the guest speaker.

    City Trick or Treats hours

    The City of Lawrenceburg Trick or Treat hours are Friday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

    Trick or Treat on Main is on Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. City officials advise to please watch closely for all pedestrians during this time.

    Last chance to visit Misery Manor

    Misery Manor will continue from Oct. 29-31 the Eagle Lake Convention Center located at 1008 Eagle Lake Drive. The haunted house starts at 7:30 each night and tickets are $5 at the door.

    Children dressed in costumes will receive a free children’s book during the Friends of the Anderson Public Library’s annual Halloween sale, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at in the back lawn of the library, located at 114 North Main St., Lawrenceburg, according to a news release.
