  • A year round celebration at water park

Have you ever wanted to go on vacation without having to spend a lot of money? Well, if this is a question you have been wanting an answer to … you’ve come to the right “place”!!
A great place for a “staycation” is Holiday World! Not only does it have an amusement park full of fun roller coasters, it also has an amazing water park! Their rides and slides are great for families up to about 10 people.

  • Do you know what a staycation is?

With the title above did you think to yourself, “Hey, I don’t know what a ‘staycation’ is?” If you don’t, then I will tell you. Hi! My name is Caitlin Hobbs and I am a seventh grader at Anderson County Middle School. A staycation is a vacation in your hometown or state. This means you could go on vacation and not have to fly or drive far away. Have you ever looked for historical sites or museums to visit? Well I have, and you should too!

  • What’s a staycation?

Editor’s note: The following essays were chosen as the winning entries from Heather Hardin’s seventh grade language arts class at Anderson County Middle School. Students were required to write about “staycations,” and their peers voted on which article they wanted to submit to The Anderson News.
A staycation is doing something that will relax you, save you money, don’t have to stay in a hotel, and something that keeps you active as well.

  • Camp Calvary is the place to be for vacation

With the rising cost of plane tickets and gas, a lot of you haven’t been on vacation in a while. Your kids are probably asking you, “Why can’t we go on vacation,” and you say, “We don’t have enough money.” Well, money is pretty tight these days and people are on a strict financial budget.

  • A staycation you’ll never forget

We all know what a vacation is, but do we know what a staycation is? A staycation is somewhere you go in your city/town or nearby your home to save money.
A great staycation location is Anderson County’s Wall of Veterans. This honors all the military veterans of Anderson County who have served for the United States military, all branches. You should choose this location for a staycation to proudly salute and thank all those, past and present, who have fought for our freedom. Your visit will be a salute to the veterans’ bravery.
