Jeramy Hudnall of Lawrenceburg successfully completed the General Education Development test June 23 and received a certificate of completion at the Adult Education Center at Springfield Campus, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.
To pass GED tests, participants must score higher in five subjects than 60 percent of graduating high school seniors across the nation.  
Successful completion of the GED is a significant accomplishment and a crucial step toward further success in post secondary education and the workplace

Erin Shields of Lawrenceburg has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Shields will be honored during an induction convocation this fall on the Murray State University campus, according to a news release.
NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students.
Membership is by invitation only, based on GPA and class standing.

The following students qualified for Anderson County High Scholarship Awards 2011, according to a staff news release
Jackie Alcorn: University of Kentucky $1,500 Flagship scholarship;
Tyler Baker: Western KY University Regents scholarship, YKK Dependent children scholarship $8000 over four years, American Cancer Society $1,000;
Chelsie Baxter: KY Blood Center $1,000 scholarship;
