Getting ready to plant a garden?
The Anderson County High School Greenhouse is open and is offering a variety of plants sure to get you started.
The greenhouse, which is operated by the district’s agricultural students, offers several varieties of tomato and pepper plants, along with herbs, flowering bedding plants and hanging baskets.
The greenhouse is open Monday through Friday from 2 to 4 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anderson County Middle School students involved in band and chorus participated recently in the District Festival.
Seventh- and eighth-grade students performed at the Oldham County Center for the Arts and presented two selections for adjudication.
The chorus, accompanied by eighth-grade humanities teacher Ginger Warren, sang “Cantate Hodie” and “The River Sleeps Beneath the Sky,” both by Mary Lynn Lightfoot. Students received proficient-plus ratings from all three judges, which means they were very close to receiving a distinguished rating.

Today our president, Jamie Bingham, selected Kyle and Hailey to lead us in our pledges. Cameron Harrod called roll by asking what your favorite ice cream flavor is.
Our president asked if we had any old business to talk about and we did. Ethan asked about the clubs we talked about at our last meeting.
Next we watched a video on 4-H camp and talked about it.
Zoe and Clay adjourned our meeting.

Action KIDS 4-H club at Ward Elementary

Classes in aerobics and Tae Bo will begin April 18 at Saffell Street Elementary School, Anderson Community Education announced.
The classes will be held for six weeks on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 to 7.
Cost is $29.
The class includes warm-up, strength endurance with hand weights, leg exercises, jabs, punches, kick boxing, and cool down.
Participants should bring a mat or towel, 1 to 5 pounds of hand weights and bottled water.
Registration will take place the night of the first class, according to a news release.
