  • Student wins WKU scholarship at math contest

    Levi Wilson of Anderson County Middle School won a full-tuition scholarship to Western Kentucky University after taking first place individually at the KSPE Capital Chapter MathCounts competition.
    Middle School Mathletes from Anderson County Middle School took second place at the competition.
    Western Kentucky University awarded scholarships to the top three scoring individuals, with Wilson winning a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to WKU.

  • Academy students move on to region science fair

    Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg science fair students will be advancing to the regional round in Louisville, according to a release from the school. By being the top finishers in the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg Science Fair, these students qualified for the ACSI regional round to held in March at Portland Christian Academy in Louisville.

    Lego robotics workshop
    When: Saturday, March 2 from 1-4 p.m. (Children 6-9 years old)
    Where: Anderson Middle School multipurpose room instruction by the 4-H Lego Legends Robotics Team

  • To learn about community, hand out homemade valentines

    To teach her students about community, preschool teacher Andrea Newman decided to forgo the typical Valentine’s Day party for her students  
    When kids are 3, 4 and 5 years old, Newman said, they tend to think a lot about themselves.
    So Early Childhood Center students gathered up their homemade Valentine’s Day cards, hopped on a bus and found themselves walking through the hallways of the Heritage Hall Health and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, Feb. 15.

  • Academy MathCounts member to compete at state

    The Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg's MathCounts team competed with 10 other schools in the Capitol Chapter competition Feb. 16.

    Two team members, Blaine Carpenter and R.W. Myles, were in the top 25 percent out of more than 60 competitors. R.W. Myles was in the top 10 and will be competing in the state competition in March.

    Girls’ soccer team
    to host pancake breakfast
    The Anderson County Middle School Lady Mustang soccer team will host its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Tony’s Bar B Q Barn in Lawrenceburg.
    All-you-can eat pancake platters will be served from 7:30-10:30 a.m. for the cost of $7. All proceeds will support the team.
