Firefighters rescued four people Saturday when the vehicle they were in became stranded in the swollen Salt River on Rice Road.
Interim Anderson County Fire Chief Donald Cox said the driver of a Jeep attempted to cross the river, which had swelled from due to last week’s heavy rain and snow.
“The water was moving very fast,” said Cox. “Normally it’s just a couple of inches but that day it was at least a couple of feet.”
