  • Trial set for man charged with attempted murder over weed trimmer spat

    The man charged with attempted murder following a dispute over a weed trimmer last summer is scheduled to stand trial next Thursday in Anderson Circuit Court.

    Hugh “Matt” Robinson, who was 78 at the time of his arrest, is charged with shooting Chuck Grace in the chest as Grace’s twin teenaged sons looked on.

    The two men were having what Grace said was a discussion about a weed trimmer Robinson promised to give Grace’s sons for mowing his yard, but the discussion quickly turned violent.

  • Man busted for sending obscene material to minor

    A former Lawrenceburg resident was arrested March 14 on a warrant that claims he sent a photo of his private parts to a minor.

    Joseph Petersmark, who is currently housed in the Three Forks Regional Jail on other charges, is charged with distribution of obscene material to a minor, harassing communications and third-degree terroristic threatening in a case that involved interacting with a 17-year-old Lawrenceburg girl on social media, including Instagram and Facebook.

  • Man charged with ‘swatting’ at EMS

    A man staying at Best Western became combative with EMS workers March 14, allegedly swinging at them while yelling, “I am USA! You no USA!” according to police reports.

    Eric Reynaga, 48, of Ashland City, Tennessee was charged March 14 with second-degree disorderly conduct.

    “He kept saying, ‘I was born here. I am USA, you no USA,” said Emergency Management Director Bart Powell, who was in Reynaga’s hotel room at the time.

  • Search for burglar results in pot bust

    An Anderson County man was charged with marijuana possession last Wednesday morning after deputies found more than a pound of weed in his home, according to a police documents.

    Buddy Evans, 61, of 1149 Dugansville Road is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

    According to a report filed by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputy Tony Likins was assisting the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office in searching for a burglary suspect when he stopped at Evans’ house to warn him about the incident.

  • Traffic stop lands two behind bars on heroin charges

    Two Lawrenceburg residents became the latest to face heroin charges after they were arrested Saturday night by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Jacob Jones, 32, of 113 Ash Court was charged with two counts of trafficking in heroin, along with possession of marijuana and other drugs after deputy Patrick Beasley obtained a warrant to search his home.

    Jones was arraigned and held on $10,000 cash bail.

  • Denney Drive man arraigned on child pornography charges

    A Lawrenceburg man remains behind bars after being charged Oct. 25 with distributing and possessing matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

    Robert Cataldi, 42, of 1245 Denney Drive is charged with two counts of distribution and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, court records show.

    Each charge is a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. He is lodged in the Shelby County Detention Center, where he is being held on $25,000 cash bail.

    A Salt River Road woman who allegedly added the cost of gift cards to customers’ bills while checking them out at Walmart pleaded not guilty Oct. 3 in Anderson District Court.

    Madison Mangione, 19, of 1104 Salt River Road, Lawrenceburg is charged with theft by unlawful taking for an alleged scheme that saw her pocket more than a dozen gift cards customers didn’t know they were purchasing, according to an arrest report.
