    The following people were recently charged and transported to jail, according to information provided by Anderson County Jailer Joani Clark.

    May 18

    Dennis Carrier was charged with a Taylor County warrant by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Richard Crink was charged with alcohol intoxication and second-degree disorderly conduct by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Rebecca Hicks was charged with alcohol intoxication and second-degree disorderly conduct by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

  • Grand jury indictments

    The following people were indicted May 3 by an Anderson County Grand Jury, according to documents on file in Anderson County Circuit Court.

    April Hume of 5707 Lawrenceburg Road, Chaplin was indicted on one count of flagrant non-support for failing to make child support payments for her two children in the amount of $18,305.86.

    Travis Peterson (no address listed) was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication for allegedly possessing Oxycodone.

    Russell Walker was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Obed Drury was charged with harassing communications and third-degree terroristic threatening by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Driver cited after wreck injures woman, infant

    The driver of a truck hauling cars that injured a woman and her 8-month-old child in a wreck last week is facing a slew of charges, according to police reports.

    Kyle Andrew Skaggs, 34, of 1837 McClendon Ridge Road, Russell Springs was hauling cars from Copart when he allegedly pulled out in front of the woman’s vehicle, causing the woman’s vehicle to hit a trailer he was towing, according to first responders at the scene.

    Two Lawrenceburg men were busted for having what police described as a “large amount” of marijuana in their vehicle stop April 7.
    Austin Moore, 19, of 1323 Powell Taylor Road and Landen Ockerman, 19, of 209 Suzanne St., were each charged with trafficking less than 8 ounces of marijuana.
    In the incident began when police spotted the duo stopped in the middle of the intersection at Highway 62 and Mill Creek Pike, according to police reports.

  • Police find methamphetamine suspect hiding in closet

    Police found a Lawrenceburg man hiding in a closet before busting him for possession of methamphetamine and his girlfriend for trying to hide him.
    Timothy Walker, 31, and Mariah McDaniel, 25, both of 1141 Versailles Road were jailed after police performed a “knock and talk” at their residence while investigating active arrest warrants that had been issued for both.
    Once inside, officers questioned McDaniel, who told them three times that Walker was not at the residence.

  • Shoplifting charge leads to meth bust

    Sunday afternoon went from bad to worse when a bag of methamphetamine allegedly fell from a Lawrenceburg man’s pocket while he was being detained in Walmart on a shoplifting allegation.
    Michael Jones, 49, of 101 Hilltop Drive, was apprehended by an off-duty Lawrenceburg Police officer after he was seen attempting to steal a recording device in the store, according to a report filed by officer Clay Crouch.
