    Judge Linda Armstrong heard the following cases during Anderson District Court proceedings April 21.
    Angel L. Sewell, motion to revoke probation, first-degree criminal trespassing -- continued to May 19.
    Chastin C. Sheppard, sentencing, representing another person’s operator’s license as one’s own -- diversion failed, $353.
    Stephen Stampler, motion to revoke probation, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury), menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest -- remanded.

  • Fiscal court notebook: 7-27-11

    Front of courthouse to be repaired
    The fiscal court voted unanimously last Tuesday to spend $8,500 to make repairs to the entrance of the Anderson County Courthouse, and selected the low bidder, Kearns and Stratton Construction, to do the work.
    “It needs to be fixed, and has been an eyesore for years,” said Judge-Executive John Wayne Conway.
    Conway said the repairs will be made using the courthouse fines fund.

    The following marriage licenses were recorded at the Anderson County Courthouse in May.
    Shannon Kaye Perkins, 45, of Lawrenceburg, CNA and Gary Luther Baxter, 51, of Lawrenceburg, factory worker, were married April 30.
    Amanda Shea Hopper, 19, of Lawrenceburg, Hampton Inn, and Jamie Lee Ward Jr., 19, of Frankfort, Walmart, were married April 29.
    Jessica Layne Hall, 24, of Versailles, unemployed, and Robert Edward Medley, 24, of Lawrenceburg, construction, were married May 2.

    Judge Linda Armstrong heard the following cases during Anderson District Court proceedings April 21.
    Megan K. Kinslow, arraignment, possession of marijuana -- pleaded guilty, sentenced to 30 days (conditionally discharged for one year), $100 to Anderson County Drug Intervention Fund, $253; buying/possessing drug paraphernalia -- pleaded guilty, $100, installment/deferred payment May 5.
    Vivian M. Liles, arraignment, menacing -- pleaded not guilty, pretrial conference May 18, motion/disposition/trial date June 2, released on own recognizance.

    ‘The city gave zero’
    With no comments other than one made in obvious dissatisfaction by Conway, the fiscal court voted to accept the Lawrenceburg-Anderson County Economic Development Authority’s budget.
    Stressing the word Lawrenceburg, Conway noted that the city council did not include EDA funding in its current budget.
    “The city gave zero,” Conway said.
