    Jan. 1

    Joseph Botkins was charged with alcohol intoxication and second degree disorderly conduct by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    James Vincent was charged with failure to appear in court or pay fines by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Jan. 2

    Raymond Wilcock was charged with alcohol intoxication by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Judge Donna Dutton heard the following cases during Anderson District Court proceedings on Dec. 15.

    David L. Baker, hearing, two counts of buy/possess drug paraphernalia – bonded out.

    William J. Brown, hearing, second-degree wanton endangerment – contempt of court, 90 days to serve (purge of contempt upon payment in full).

    Cory D. Gray, hearing, operating a motor vehicle under the influence – proof in file, fines and costs converted to four days to serve (credit time served).

  • Suspect leads police on chase that ends near The Gardens

    From staff reports

    A Shelbyville man faces a bevy of criminal charges after leading police on a chase that ended near The Gardens subdivision Highway 44 in Anderson County, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police.

    Terry West, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI, reckless driving, fleeing or first-degree evading police, improper passing, resisting arrest and speeding following the chase that began in Shelby County, according to the release.

  • Police warn of jury duty scam

    The Lawrenceburg Police Department reportedly received several complaints Friday in reference to a jury duty scam. According to a news release, the caller tells to potential victim that that they are law enforcement, advising the caller that they missed jury duty on a specific date and now there’s a warrant for their arrest.

    Timothy P. Garlen, show cause, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security – paid.

    Scott L. Gonyaw, show cause, failure to give right of way to emergency stopped vehicle – paid.

    Aaron J. Hilbert, show cause, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance – continued to Jan. 5.
