  • Suspect leads police on chase that ends near The Gardens

    A Shelbyville man faces a bevy of criminal charges after leading police on a chase that ended near The Gardens subdivision Highway 44 in Anderson County, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police.

    Terry West, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI, reckless driving, fleeing or first-degree evading police, improper passing, resisting arrest and speeding following the chase that began in Shelby County, according to the release.

  • Police warn of jury duty scam

    The Lawrenceburg Police Department reportedly received several complaints Friday in reference to a jury duty scam. According to a news release, the caller tells to potential victim that that they are law enforcement, advising the caller that they missed jury duty on a specific date and now there’s a warrant for their arrest.

    Timothy P. Garlen, show cause, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security – paid.

    Scott L. Gonyaw, show cause, failure to give right of way to emergency stopped vehicle – paid.

    Aaron J. Hilbert, show cause, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance – continued to Jan. 5.

    Judge Donna Dutton heard the following cases during Anderson District Court proceedings on Nov. 20.

    Donnie R. Campbell, review, no operator/moped license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, third-degree terroristic threatening, operating a motor vehicle under the influence – show cause Dec. 4.

    Samantha J. Combs, arraignment, theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting less than $500) – pleaded guilty, sentenced to 30 days (conditionally discharged two years), $153, installment/deferred payment Feb. 26.

    Dec. 1

    Hannah Croddy was charged with no seat belts, no insurance, expired registration, expired plates and a Franklin County warrant by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Heather Lenguardoro was charged with two counts of failure to appear by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Adam O. Deskins, arraignment, operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license – pleaded guilty, sentenced to three days to serve (credit time served), $393, installment/deferred payment Jan. 22; failure to notify department of transportation of address change – dismissed.
