    The following people were recently arrested and transported to jail, according to information released by Anderson County Jailer Joani Clark.

    Dec. 1

    Hannah Croddy was charged with no seat belts, no insurance, expired registration, expired plates and a Franklin County warrant by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Heather Lenguardoro was charged with two counts of failure to appear by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Judge Betty A. Springate heard the following cases during Anderson District Court proceedings on Nov. 13.

    Adam O. Deskins, arraignment, operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license – pleaded guilty, sentenced to three days to serve (credit time served), $393, installment/deferred payment Jan. 22; failure to notify department of transportation of address change – dismissed.

    Judge Betty A. Springate heard the following cases during Anderson District Court proceedings on Oct. 27.

    Samantha C. Conover, arraignment, buy/possess drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of controlled substance (heroin), possession of marijuana – pleaded not guilty, preliminary hearing Nov. 6.

    David E. Hess, II, arraignment, buy/possess drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) – pleaded not guilty, preliminary hearing Nov. 6.

    Donald Warmouth for driving under the influence, first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to notify Department of Transportation of address change and improper or no turn signal by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

  • Man jailed for check-cashing scheme, two others for drugs

    From staff reports

    An alleged cash-checking scheme has landed one man in jail and two friends in trouble on drug charges.

    William Whetzel, 21, of 1042 Dan Drive, Lawrenceburg remains behind bars on $5,000 cash bail for attempting to cash checks that did not belong to him on two occasions.

    Whetzel has faced numerous criminal charges in the past couple of years, including being caught carrying firearms on Anderson County Middle School property.

    Shaunda K. Brown, show cause, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security – paid.
    Steven R. Brown, show cause, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security – continued to Jan. 26.

    William Robinson for operating on a revoked or suspended license and three counts of failure to appear in court by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    James L. Bashaw, arraignment, second-degree criminal possession forged instrument, theft by deception (less than $10,000) – pleaded not guilty, preliminary hearing Oct. 9.

    Jeffrey D. Campbell, arraignment, theft by unlawful taking (auto less than $500), buy/possess drug paraphernalia – pleaded not guilty, pretrial conference Oct. 30.
