  • Man jailed for choking woman

    A Lawrenceburg man remains behind bars after allegedly choking a woman until the blood vessels in her eyes burst, according to a citation issued by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Brock O’Neil Thompson, 22, of 424 Secretariat Drive, allegedly broke into the woman’s home and waited for her to return while hiding in a basement closet, according to an arrest warrant requested May 8 by officer Nathan Doty.

    Right now, everyone is equal. The football season opens across the state Friday night with everyone pointing the first weekend in December when the state champions will be determined at Western Kentucky University.

    OK, we will be realistic and acknowledge that even though everyone is 0-0 right now, some are more equal than others. Suffice it to say that the odds of Trinity or Bowling Green being happy in early December are much higher than just about every other team in the state.

  • Grand jury indictments

    The following people were indicted July 19 by the Anderson County Grand Jury.

    Melissa Gilliam of 118 Bell St., Lawrenceburg was indicted for first-degree illegal possession of a controlled substance (heroin); operating under the influence; reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.

    The indictments stem from an incident May 28.

    Jennifer Cox of 200 Adams Lane, Frankfort was indicted on two counts of third-degree burglary, stemming from an incident April 26 at 1000 Bypass North.

    Mary Back was charged with failure to appear by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Andy Kwan was charged with failure to appear or pay by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

    Vincent Semien was charged on a Boone County warrant by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Son busted for stealing items from father’s house

    A Lawrenceburg man remains behind bars after he allegedly stole a number of items from his father’s house.

    Brian Daniels, 32, of 302 Suzanne St., and another man were seen allegedly loading a white passenger car with lawn mowers and other yard maintenance items on June 21, according to a police report.

    They also took several DVDs and CD player from inside the home.

    Police arrived and found that two sheds on the property had been forcibly entered, according to the report.

    Ryan McCutcheon was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, possession of a suspended license, one headlight, improper equipment, failure to notify DOT of address change and failure to appear by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

    Danny Cox was charged with DUI and operating on a suspended or revoked license by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
