The city of Lawrenceburg announced Thursday that it will have a truck at the city maintenance garage from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to accept debris from this week's storm.

The collection site is available to any private citizen who lives within the city limits said Mayor Edwinna Baker.

Contractors generally have their own sites for the debris, but private citizens are welcome to bring downed trees and tree limbs to the garage, which is located on Highway 44 behind Capital Family Physicians.

Anderson County overcame a 10-point deficit in the final three minutes to defeat visiting North Oldham 69-67 Tuesday night.

The teams were ranked at the top of the Eighth Region entering the contest.

North Oldham led 61-51 with three minutes remaining and was still in front 66-60 when Mustang star Tyler St. Julien went over Jacob Russell’s back for his fifth foul.

Russell sank both ends of the double-bonus, then on the ensuing possession, came up with a steal and fed C.J. Penny for a layup.

Anderson County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, Transportation Director Chuck Fletcher announced.

Schools have been closed all week because of the winter weather.

If Bart Lewis could only make things look as easy as Davey Concepcion.

During the days of Cincinnati’s Big Red Machine pulverizing Major League Baseball, Concepcion was so effortless at shortstop that some think that his contributions might have been overlooked.

“I wore number 13 and my son, Dalton, wears number 13. He has heard all about Dave Concepcion,” Lewis says with a big smile.
