In case you missed it, there will be a major change in high school basketball next year.
A few weeks ago, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced it would begin using a form of the “mercy rule” by having a running clock after one team is ahead by 35 points or more in the second half.
It was met with a lot of applause, usually for an emphasis on sportsmanship and not beating a team mercilessly.
Here is one, though, that is not crazy about the rule. And I base my take on things based on experience.
