Two weeks ago, 8-year-old Caleb Pack slipped into a coma after going into cardiac arrest.
His family has been “waiting on a miracle” ever since, said Michelle Vaughn, who works with Caleb’s mother, Robin, at Evergreen Child Care.
Caleb has suffered from juvenile rheumatoid arthritis for about four years, and the disease weakened his immune system. Caleb had recently been sick, and became severely dehydrated, Vaughn said. The dehydration caused Caleb to go into cardiac arrest on Wednesday, Jan. 13, and he has been in a coma since then, Vaughn said.
