    Baseball legend Pee Wee Reese will be portrayed April 12 at Emma B. Ward Elementary School.
    The free event will begin at 7 p.m. in the school’s library and is provided by the Anderson County Humanities Council.
    Portraying Reese will be Dick Usher.

    A reunion for the Cornishes of central Kentucky will be held June 2 at noon at the Cornishville Fire Station Community Center, located at 4534 Cornishville Road in Cornishville.

    April 12, 1962
    Marine Lance Cpl. Randy Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Black, completed a week of testing and screening at the Naval Air Technical Training Center Memphis, Tenn., to determine his eligibility for technical training in preparation for duty with the aviation branch of the Marine Crops.

    Jerry Lewis starred in “Ladies Man,” at the Starway Drive In.

    scholarships to Eastern Kentucky
    Four Lawrenceburg students accepted merit-based scholarships to attend Eastern Kentucky University.
    These students include Chelsea Lane, presidential scholarship; Matthew Sprague, founders scholarship; Bronston Mitchell, presidential scholarship; and Scarlett Sullivan, regents scholarship
