Anderson County answered Monday night.

Emy and Brandon Womack didn’t expect any complications when their second son, Brady, was born.

Brady was born at 40 weeks and nothing throughout Emy’s pregnancy had led the family to believe there were any foreseeable problems.

But the Womack family was hit with the unexpected.

Brady was born with meconium aspiration, meaning he had inhaled meconium during birth and it was blocking his airways.

One of 13 charges against the ex-youth pastor accused of rape and sodomy was dismissed on Tuesday, and another is in review.

Gordon Lunceford, 47, appeared in Anderson County Circuit Court on Tuesday for a status hearing.

Lunceford, who was a youth minister at First Baptist Church in 1992 when the alleged abuse occurred, was originally charged with six counts of third-degree rape, five counts of third-degree sodomy, one count of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of second-degree sexual abuse.

The Anderson County Board of Education took the first step last week toward building a new Early Childhood Center — but don’t expect any ground to be broken for at least a couple years.

At a special meeting Sept. 28, the board approved a BG-1, which is a project application form the district submits to the Kentucky Department of Education.

However, district officials don’t expect to be able to start on the project for two to three years, said Superintendent Kim Shaw.
