EMINENCE -- Shelby County stunned highly-ranked Anderson County, 11-5, to win the 30th District championship Tuesday night at Eminence.
Down 5-0 early, Shelby rallied with a five-run third inning, then put things completely out of reach with another five runs in the top of the seventh.
Anderson, ranked seventh in the state in the final coaches' poll of the season, looked anything but a Top 10 team over the final five innings as the Lady Bearcats committed seven errors and had numerous mental miscues in the field and on the base paths.
