While boys his age might have been trying to be the next Dale Murphy or Eric Davis, L.W. Barnes stayed closer to home.
“My biggest hero growing up was Tom,” Barnes says of his cousin, Tom Barnes. “In the summer, we were playing ball all the time. I was always around Tom and my brother.”
P.D. Barnes, the brother, was three years older than L.W., just like Tom, who lived in Frankfort.
