FRANKFORT — Tuesday afternoon, Katianna Yates witnessed what she could only describe as a “monumental event in history.”
Barack Obama was sworn into office and became the nation’s first black president.
“It’s something I never thought I’d see,” Yates said. “I know it’s something my grandparents and parents never thought they’d see.”
Yates, a Lawrenceburg resident who is a sophomore at Kentucky State University, said she believes Obama will be a great president.
