Tyler Harrod's short game is what got him to the state golf tournament. Last Friday, it might have made his trip to Bowling Green a short one.
Harrod shot a 15-over 87 in the opening round of the tournament, held at Bowling Green Country Club, finishing well off the cut.
“I drove the ball well. My short game was what hurt me the most,” said Harrod, a junior. “I struggled with chipping and it really didn't help when I lipped out several par putts.”
