“I remember we got together once before. We went on the field and the speakers quit working just as we got out there,” laughs Tony Kays, who was a sophomore defensive back on the 1972 Anderson County High School football team.
In some ways, that glitch might have been fitting. Forty years ago, those Bearcats accomplished something no Anderson team had ever done before and did not duplicate for 35 more seasons when they won a district championship.
