The Kentucky Boys’ High School All-Stars will be conducting a public scrimmage at Anderson County High School on Monday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m.
The Kentucky team, led by Mr. Basketball and LSU signee Anthony Hickey of Christian County, will be scrimmaging the Kentucky Junior All-Stars in preparation for the annual summer series against Indiana.
It just does not seem possible that another year has come and gone.

Actually, some members of the Anderson County track team will be competing in the state meet Saturday in Louisville and the Anderson County baseball and softball teams were alive at press time, but both were expected to have tough matchups Tuesday night.
Luke Warford and Lowell Gordon were so close to advancing to this week’s state tennis tournament.
But the cruel reality of an elimination tournament is just that – elimination.
The Anderson County juniors advanced to the fourth round of last week’s Region 8 tennis tournament at Franklin County High School before falling to Matthew Stewart and Thomas Schaller of Oldham County 6-1, 6-3. Stewart and Schaller advanced to this week’s state tournament. The top four entries advance to the state.
Anderson County High School senior Elizabeth Mason has committed to play soccer at Centre College. She publicly announced the decision during a ceremony at the school last Wednesday.
With Centre competing at the NCAA Division III level, Mason will not receive any athletic scholarship money. Any financial aid will be academic or need-based. She did, however, sign a letter of commitment with the school.
Anderson 6, Franklin 2
Anderson County took advantage of numerous Franklin County errors and Logan Woodside collected three runs batted in as the Bearcats defeated the Flyers, 6-2, last Thursday night in Frankfort. It was the second time in little more than a week that Anderson had been successful against Franklin.
Woodside drove in Granville Hayes with a fourth-inning single then belted a two-run home run, his sixth of the season, in the sixth inning to put the icing on Anderson’s cake. Woosided finished at 3-for-4 and scored three runs.
I am pretty sure most of you out there are like me and are tired of all the rain.
I know the folks with river properties are, whether it be here along the Kentucky, along our northern border with Ohio or in far west Kentucky’s Mississippi River shores. The 30th District baseball semifinal between Anderson County and Spencer County has been postponed a second time. The game is now scheduled to resume on Wednesday, May 25 at 5 p.m. at Spencer County High School.
The Anderson County-Collins softball game set for Tuesday night is still on for a 7:30 start.
