Surviving Kentucky winters is a challenge for cold-blooded arthropods. A few species, such as the monarch butterfly, cede cold weather to the hardy and fly south for the winter.
Those who know me, know I don’t lose my temper. I rarely ever get mad. Only if I see a child or animal being hurt will I go from nice to ninja in a nano second.
This past week in Frankfort marked the halfway point of the 2018 Legislative Session. Kentucky is a robust state, with many incredibly good traits, and some serious issues still to tackle.
The incessant rain produced gloomy skies over Frankfort last week. Only occasional glimmers of light were visible through the clouds. The same could be said for the action – or lack thereof – on a pension or budget bill this week. We heard whispers of a possible pension bill that gave us a slight twinkle of hope. However, that quickly faded as it became apparent no such a bill would be forthcoming.
Turns out there are sick people everywhere this winter, even in the White House. Only it is not the flu that’s getting them down; it is the piling up of violence against women, of harassers and abusers, of sick men.
