To the editor:
I am writing this letter in regard to a photo and writing project I recently completed.
I had some close friends recommend that I submit the picture with my writing to my hometown newspaper, possibly for publication on the Fourth of July.
Thank you so much for your time and I hope you consider printing my work in your newspaper.

The Flag
He looks at the flag waving in the air, too young to know the meaning it bears.

To the editor:
I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer — gee whiz I wish it would warm it up.
The cold of November is fast approaching and Election Day looms.
The Obama Care vote of last week (5-4) was the final straw for me in viewing this president’s intentions to mislead and deceive the American people. Obama orchestrated this “tax” document and has shaken this country intending to deceive the American public with a healthcare bill that is dominated by taxation principles.

To the editor:
After eating at Tony’s Bar-B-Que Barn after a group motorcycle ride to Lawrenceburg on June 20, my motorcycle would crank but not start.
Tony Howard, the owner of the restaurant whom I’d never met, saw what was going on and asked if he could help. We informed Tony of the problem and he proceeded to empty the bed of his pickup truck.
Tony, I and several friends from Southeast Christian Church in Louisville loaded my bike onto his truck, and Tony drove me to Louisville and dropped me off at home.

To the editor:
I read your column in last week’s paper about the way our property taxes are divided and think most of us can agree that while the library is very useful and we all love it, the expense is outrageous.
This is a classic case of abuse of our tax money. I recently went to a library board meeting and it took me about five minutes to identify the problem. It’s the board.
These folks are doing the best they can, but there are no accountants, bankers business owners, etc., on it.
The library tells them what she wants and gets it.
