To the editor:
I must say I have questioned the reasoning behind the mega-money churches.
What has happened to the humble white church on the hill? Faith is not found in a building, no matter what size it is. Faith is to be found in the heart of man.
We as individuals are responsible for our own salvation, not collective salvation, as some would think.
Years ago I heard a speaker make a good point, he said, “A man can sit in a garage forever and never be a car, the same, a man can sit in a church and never be a Christian.”

To the editor:
So — it’s not enough that a member of our city council has to denounce the lawyers of Main Street as “shysters,” but then he has to go and apologize for it. Well, methinks that Mr. Evans doth now protest too much, that he should have stuck with his initial assessment, and that he deserves a certain measure of comeuppance for his apology.

To the editor:
The verbal statement I made during the board of council meeting on July 11 and was published in The Anderson News was a trivial comment made during a very controversial moment in a meeting.
If indeed it was offensive to anyone of the lawyers on Main Street, I do humbly offer my apology.
I was not truly aware of the way most lawyers regard the term in their professional way.
To all of you, please accept my sincere apology.

After reading the Rue’s heartfelt tribute to Glenn Beck, the soul of Fox News, I was almost moved to tears.
With crying towel in hand I read each paragraph with hopes that some facts might emerge, but alas as usual, I could find none.
But, hopefully a few of Glenn’s historic quotes below will give your readers an idea of why the writers of this tribute adore and will so deeply miss this warm and compassionate man.
