Delegates to the 141st KEA Delegate Assembly elected Lisa Petrey-Kirk to a three-year term as vice president of the 42,000-member Kentucky Education Association, according to a press release.
Petrey-Kirk, a 1983 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a National Board Certified Teacher, has taught all of her 26 years at Anderson County Middle School.

Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of Waddy is hosting its first Spring Shoot and Game Day this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring skeet, rimfire pistol and rimfire rifle shoots for children and adults of all ages.

Thank you for covering the story on Rebekah and Noah Gregory being injured in the Boston Marathon bombings.
Rebekah’s mother, Tina Catlett Gregory, is a graduate of Anderson County High School and her grandparents, Dave and Ruby Catlett are residents of Lawrenceburg.
Rebekah continues to recover and the doctors are working hard to help save her leg. Her mother, Tina, has remained by her bedside for nearly a month now.

The Anderson County Middle School girls' soccer team recently honored the eight-grade members of the team before a 6-0 win over Lincoln County.

During the game, eighth-graders Billie Clark and Lucero Ramos scored out of the offense and another, Brooke Snider, connected on a penalty kick. Seventh graders Taylor Harley, Kinsey Robers and Caitlyn Stumph also scored for Anderson. Goalie Hannah Drury recorded a shutout.
